After two years of pandemic schooling, many schools and districts are seeking to improve their family engagement practice. This report offers a set of concrete recommendations for building a comprehensive strategy that directly impacts student learning and well-being. It is rooted in six years of Learning Heroes surveys with parents and educators, as well as well-established research codified in the Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships (Version 2), and lessons from the pandemic on how to elevate family engagement as an equity imperative. Examples of strong practice from schools and districts across the country bring the recommendations to life.
